Then...

Using Bate's analysis, trace the ways in which Pope's 'An Essay on Criticism' estabishes a boundary between, the random, subjective and

personal on the one hand, and the ordered, objective and natural on the other.

 

In addition you can test your results by studying Hogarth's series of engravings: Marriage a la Mode:  If your observations are correct you should see the same ideas regarding reason and 'balance' and 'Nature' in Hogarth and Pope.
